The Most Beautiful House In America

Originally Built in 1916, this San Francisco mansion was dubbed “The Most beautiful House in America”. Recently overhauled by world famous architect, Peter Marino. Marino’s unique talent lies in his preservation of a site’s classical aesthetic but adding an eclectic array of modern and reclaimed elements, all while masterfully conjuring up spaces that feel traditional, but somehow are not.

Many of the rooms within this sprawling mansion required replication and replacement of most of the original interior decorative architecture. Palladio played a significant role, working closely with the Peter Marino team. Palladio utilized mixture of GFRG and traditional plaster work to restore this home to its former splendor.

The following gallery contains imagery from the Jan 2021 issue of Architectural Digest in which this San Francisco landmark was featured.
